Mr. Anand Kumar’s craze for math went on inspite of the obstacles. He started renting a class room at 300 INR every month and named his institute as "RSM" or Ramanujan School of Mathematics. The beginnings were humble, we all know that; only two students enrolled in his institute in 1992. Such, it wasn’t any difficult task for him to isolate his brand as he worked with a full of dedication and commitment. In a short amount of time, he noticed an increase in the number of students who enrolled and examined, thus, rewarding his efforts.


The next day, an indigence student arrived before him inquiring about the JEE coaching, as they were not in a position to pay for other fees. This inspired him to launch the super30 project. And this happened in 2002. It aimed to give free coaching annually to 30 students from the weaker sections of the society. This institute offered them boarding, lodging, and study material free of cost too.

The coaching program seemed successful as 18 of the 30 students enrolled in coaching in the first year managed to get IIT admissions. In response to this, the number choosing the program further grew the year after so a written test had to be introduced as a means of selection for the last 30 students. The student acceptance rates for IITs raised from 22 out of 30 thereafter to 26 in 2005 thus increasing the popularity of the program which in turn brought in more prospective applicants. Over 391 out of 450 students who went to Anand Kumar’s program are now studying in IITs after 2003 and 2017.
